Gina Funicelli
Gina has 30 years of experience in the private, public and academic sectors. fifteen of them as a Senior Administrator responsible for applied research strategy, capacity building and industry partnerships.
She completed the EMBA program at Saint Mary’s University in 2004. During that time, she acquired additional skills in rural development, entrepreneurship and business incubation.
Gina established the Industry Liaison Office (ILO) in 2005 where she worked as the Director of the ILO at Saint Mary’s and Mount Saint Vincent and NSCAD Universities. She worked with Senior Administration and faculty to build strategic partnerships with private sector companies to commercialize research. The ILO provided expertise to assess technology feasibility, manage Intellectual Property and negotiate funding opportunities. Prior to that, she spent 15 years working in the information communication telecommunication (ICT) sector in industry, working in senior roles from sales and technical support to project and product management.
